Comentabamos aqui el 4 de Nov que esperábamos que el mientras se respetara el nivel de 13.21 el peso se dirigiría al rango de 13.31-13.35. La mínima de esta semana ya alcanzo 13.33 y esperamos que se mantenga alrededor del 13.21-13.33 con posibilidades de debilitarse hasta 13.45 el resto de la semana. Suerte !

On Nov-4th we mentioned here the posibility of the mexican peso reaching the 13.31-13.45 range. So far 13.33 has been the low this week, having accomplished the expected target. We do expect the peso to stay around de 13.21-13.33, with the possibility of the weakness taking it to 13.45 by the end of the week. Godd luck !

The Limits of a Brazilian-Mexican Partnership

Mexican President-elect Enrique Pena Nieto arrived in Brazil this week amid an outpouring of media optimism about the possibility of a robust partnership forming between Latin America's two largest economies. Cooperation was also the theme of Thursday's discussions between Pena Nieto and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff -- especially in their talks concerning energy and auto sales. But despite myriad similarities between Mexico and Brazil, stark differences and conflicting interests will ensure that the countries remain primarily competitors.

Given Mexico's impressive trajectory in recent years, as well as expectations that the Pena Nieto administration will implement key economic reforms, it's not a stretch to view the two countries as equals. Indeed, a recent study by Numora, a Japanese financial consulting firm, suggested that Mexico's economy could rival Brazil's by 2022. Brazil's gross domestic product would have to shrink substantially for Mexico to catch up at its current growth rates, but the statement is still emblematic of the rising enthusiasm financial professionals have for Mexico.Certainly, there is plenty to be excited about when it comes to Mexico.

Peso ( MXP ) : 13.08 es la clave / 13.08 is the key

Durante toda la semana pasada el peso se ha estado alejando del 12.83 así que 13.08 es el siguiente objetivo. Interesante ver como los últimos dos días de la semana tuvimos formaciones de velas japonesas muy típicas, ambas formaciones doji : primero el Jueves tuvimos una formacion de libélula que comúnmente indica que los toros han ganado la batalla a pesar del gran esfuerzo de los osos y el viernes cerramos con una vela japonesa tipo lapida que tiene un carácter opuesto a la libélula, a pesar de una fuerte presencia de los toros , la batalla fue ganada por los osos al cerrar abajo. Suerte !

 

During the past week the peso was constantly moving away from 12.83, this provides a stronger bias towards the target of 13.08. We ended the week with two very typical doji candlestick formations : first on thursday we had a dragonlfy candle which gives the day to the bulls, only to see on friday the candle with the opposite character , a gravestone doji, which gives the day to the bears, this is another signal that 13.08 maybe the next target. Peso ( MXP ) : Hacia 13.08 / Towards 13.08

Como lo mencionamos aquí el 18-Sep, al no poder el peso con 12.83 esperabamos que se debilitara dirigiéndose hacia 13.08, para confirmar esto 12.95 debía ser excedido a la baja, este ha sido el caso así que a menos que haya un rebote que lo fortalezca por encima de 12.95, esperamos ver el peso en 13.08 antes de que termine la semana. Suerte !

As mentioned here on Sep-18 as the peso was having difficutlies with 12.83 a downward correction was expected; if 12.95 was to be exceeded then 13.08 can be expected. This is the case, and unless we see the peso above 12.95 it should reach  13.08 before the end of the week. Good Luck !.

Peso (MXP ) : No puede con con 12.83 / Peso can 't break 12.83

Mencionabamos aquí hace unos días la posibilidad del peso entrando al rango de 12.83-12.50. Parece que el peso no ha podido siquiera entrar en este rango. Si la caída excede 12.95 entonces 13.08 es el siguiente objetivo : 13.08 era resistencia y ahora se convertirá en soporte. Suerte !

We mentioned here the possibility of the peso entering the 12.83-12.50 range. Seems that the peso is not able to reach this range and over the last couple of days has retraced from 12.83. If the retracement exceedes 12.95 we will have 13.08 as the next target : 13.08 used to be a resistance and will now become an important support. Good Luck !

Mencionábamos aquí que había que exceder 13.08 para que el peso continué fortaleciéndose. Por segundo día consecutivo esta resistencia (13.08) ha sido respetada y ha continuado jugando un importante papel como ya mencionábamos aquí. Suerte !

We mentioned here that 13.08 needed to be exceeded in order for the peso to continue gaining strengh. For the second consecutive day this level (13.08) has not been exceeded and once more 13.08 has played an important role as mentioned before here. Good Luck !

MXP : Que esperar esta semana / What to expect this week.

El peso a respetado el soporte en 13.44-13.55 y ha recobrado algo de fuerza. 13.18 es ahora una resistencia intermedia. Conforme avance la semana las probabilidades favorecen mas debilidad, posiblemente rompiendo e 13.55. Suerte !

The 13.44-13.55 support ha held for the mexican peso and  temporary strengh has taken it to 13.18 which is now a resistance. We favour weakness for the peso, and as the week progress it may break the 13.55 level. Good Luck !

MXP : Peso toca importante resistencia / Peso reaches key resistance

Hemos venido mencionando desde hace tiempo aquí, aquí y aquí la importancia de los niveles 13.08 y 13.83, durante los últimos días el peso se ha consolidado alrededor de 13.08 sin excederlo. Nos inclinamos por que esta resistencia sea respetado y veamos hacia adelante mayor debilidad dirigiendose hacia 13.83, pasando antes por 13.44 - 13.55. Suerte !

We have mentioned here, here and here  the importance of 13.08 and 13.83 for the mexican peso. Over the las number of days the resistance level at 13.08 has played an important role and has not been exceeded. We do not expect the 13.08 level to be exceeded and we favour weakness that should take the peso to 13.83, after a short consolidation in 13.44 - 13.55. Good Lucks !

Peso (MXP) : Atrapado , debilidad hacia adelante? / Trapped, weakness ahead?

A pesar de la aparente volatilidad del Peso Mexicano, no ha pasado mucho : continua encajonado en el rango de 13.08-13.83, como se veía desde hace varias semanas aquí. El peso se ha mantenido las ultimas dos semanas en proceso de consolidación con 13.08 como resistencia inmediata importante. Al menos que 13.08 sea excedido de manera convincente nos inclinamos por ver mas debilidad en el peso durante Septiembre. La primer gráfica presenta precios diarios, la segunda comportamiento mensual.

Despite what is looks like high volatility in the mexican peso, not much has happen : it continues to be "trapped" between 13.08 and 13.83, just like we mentioned a couple of weeks ago here. Over the last two weeks the peso has been consolidating around the 13.08 resistance, unless we see a convincing break of 13.08 we favour weakeness for the month of  September.
